New HF-RFID TagsContrinex presents important new developments for its high-frequency RFID system. To ensure excellent traceability even in difficult environments, Contrinex now offers tags that are embeddable in metal, tags for high temperature applications, and miniature read/write modules with an integral USB connector for use in confined spaces.

Contrinex HF-RFID tags embeddable in metal (ISO 15693)

The difficulty of using high frequency RFID tags (13.56 MHz) in metal environments is well known. Contrinex, however, has now developed HF-RFID tags that can be embedded in metal. Rated to protection class IP68/IP69K, they have been designed and tested to withstand over 2000 thermal cycles of 25°C to 180°C, remaining for 30 minutes at each extreme of temperature: They also resist a constant temperature of 180°C for over 2000 hours.

Contrinex HF-RFID tags (ISO 15693) for extremely high temperatures

Contrinex has developed high temperature HF-RFID tags with remarkable temperature properties: they withstand more than 2000 cycles of 30 minutes at 25°C followed by 30 minutes at 250°C. They also resist a constant temperature of 250°C for over 2000 hours.

These tags allow product traceability in very difficult environments, for example paint-shop ovens in the automotive industry or powder sintering processes in metallurgy. The new tags are rated to protection class IP68/IP69K.

Contrinex HF-RFID read/write modules with USB connector (ISO 15693)

Contrinex is bringing to market a miniature read/write module that can be directly connected to a USB port and powered by it. This device fits into a threaded M18 housing measuring only 35 mm in length. It forms part of a set of four read/write modules for direct connection to a USB port. In addition to the miniature module, there is a 50 mm long M18 module and two M30 modules measuring 35 mm and 50 mm in length.

Its size and the fact that it can be connected directly to a PC make this module very attractive for many applications, either in office or industrial engineering, where space constraints play an important role.
